INGENIOUS -> IN HER GENIUS

From clever to cornerstone: embracing not just ingenious, but in her genius.

Here, you are invited to discover the stories of how these women uncovered their genius.

Historically, women have been subjugated and faced extensive limitations that often stifled their ability to fully express themselves. Denied platforms and opportunities to shine publicly, women were forced to find subtle, creative, and often unnoticed ways to express their true selves. Their intelligence, resilience, and resourcefulness manifested in ways that were typically invisible or deemed “too ordinary” to be celebrated—whether in the form of innovative problem-solving at home, emotional intelligence in relationships, or quiet perseverance in adversity.

The journey from ingenious to IN HER GENIUS captures a radical shift in how we honour and celebrate women’s intelligence. It’s not just about isolated acts of cleverness; it’s an invitation to see her genius as part of her identity, present in her way of being, creating, and moving through the world.

some women have carved out their lives as big as they wanted, as creatively as they plotted and as loud as they intended.

WE want to inspire YOU to create your own path.

Historically, women’s intelligence and abilities were not only constrained but frequently hidden or overlooked. Limited by societal expectations, women had to navigate and express their gifts in subtle, often invisible ways. These expressions of genius—emotional insight, creative resilience, quiet innovation—did not fit conventional moulds of achievement and thus went uncelebrated, dismissed as “too ordinary” or insignificant. The phrase in her genius serves as a powerful reminder to honour and witness this brilliance that has long been undervalued simply because it didn’t conform to traditional definitions of greatness.

On top of these constraints, women have also faced social retaliation if they strayed too far from acceptable norms. Many women who were naturally brilliant, multi-talented, and filled with a fierce passion for life were often deemed too much, a criticism rooted in discomfort with their defiance of narrow expectations. For those women whose genius led them to embrace the fullness of their talents, interests, and ideas, society often labelled them “unreasonable,” “unmanageable,” or “senseless.” Too muchness and little sense became terms to diminish women who lived by the voice of intuition, whose unconventional paths and powerful instincts did not align with society’s “rational” expectations.

IN HER GENIUS began as a blog series of conversations with women from diverse backgrounds and cultures, exploring how they found “their thing”—their purpose, passions, and paths. Through these dialogues, a roadmap emerged to guide other women, showing how, in retrospect, each unique journey weaves together into something deeply meaningful that also makes sense in retrospect.

TOO MUCHNESS & LITTLE SENSE

IN HER GENIUS thus celebrates and reclaims this path of too muchness and little sense. It honours the women whose brilliance does not fit into tidy boxes, those who live passionately, intuitively, and boldly, even when their choices seem irrational or excessive by conventional standards. This phrase is a tribute to the women who are unapologetically true to themselves and who draw from their intuition to create, nurture, and transform the world around them. It is a celebration of the innate, vibrant genius that emerges when women embrace every part of who they are—especially the parts that have been labelled “too much.”
